Southern University Delegation Visits Kırıkkale University

A delegation from Southern University visited our university to strengthen our bilateral cooperation efforts and initiate new projects.

Prof. Dr. Michael Stubblefield, Vice Chancellor of Southern University, Tina L. Taylor, Board Member of UNUM One Foundation, Prof. Dr. Osman Kandara, Liaison for Türkiye and Faculty Member of the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Mehtap Kandara, Program Manager for Study Abroad in Türkiye visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Başalan, and Prof. Dr. Erol Yılmaz, Vice Rectors, Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Başer, Head of International Office, attended the meeting.

Prof. Dr. Ersan said, “We have has cooperation on joint projects for 13 years with Southern University. We wouldd like to continue our academic, social, and sectoral cooperation with Southern University both bilaterally and internationally and more comprehensively.”

Prof. Dr. Michael Stubblefield received information about the studies carried out at our university. Prof. Dr. Michael Stubblefield thanked our Rector as they work together and expressed his hope that the joint efforts would be improved in the future.

After the visit, the delegation visited Technopark at the University. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Başalan, Vie Rector, Prof. Dr. Ömer Varışlı, Technopark General Manager, gave information to the delegation about the works conducted in Technopark.

Tina L Taylor, Board Member of UNUM One Foundation, gave information about the UNUM One Foundation, which aims to enable individuals and institutions to act confidently in financial and business management and increase their profit margins by acquiring financial literacy knowledge and skills.

Our guests visited our University Medical Cluster Center. They closely examined the work of Implanox Surgical Products company. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Başalan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kabalcı gave informaiton about the center and the medical devices produced at the center.

The delegation received information about the lavender water and lavender oil production process under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ogün Bozkaya.

On the second day, the delegation visited the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the Center for Scientific and Technological Research and Application (KÜBTUAM), and the International Office.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özer Sevim, Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zehra Gün Gök, and faculty members of the Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry departments gave detailed information about the faculty and relevant departments, and exchanged views on project opportunities.

The delegation received information about KÜBTUAM from Prof. Dr. Siyami Karahan, Director of the Center and explored the laboratories. After the visit, they received information about our internationalization activities in the International Office from Dr. Zeynep Başer, the Head of International Office.

Following the visit to the Southern University Liaison Office located in the International Office, they attended Senate meeting.
