As a state university founded in 1992, Kırıkkale University is located at the heart of Türkiye, only 70 km away from the capital city, Ankara, with 12 faculties, a school of foreign languages, 7 vocational schools, and 3 graduate schools. It has 1 main large campus of about 20 acres of land and 5 satellite campuses, which are Keskin Vocational School, Delice Vocational School, Hacilar Vocational School, Fatma Şenses Social Sciences Vocational School, and Faculty of Health Sciences Campus. 

Kırıkkale University, as a higher education institution that understands and values the importance of research and life-long learning, has 23 research centres in such fields as Environmental Problems, Distance Education, and Elderly Health Studies. Local people, as well as students and researchers from inside and outside the university, enjoy the opportunities offered by the Technopark, the Technology Transfer Office, and various research laboratories in faculties, such as Biology Lab, Electronics Lab, and Microprocessors Lab. Kırıkkale University also offers health services with 4 hospitals (Medical Hospital, Dental Hospital, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital, and Animal Hospital).

Kırıkkale University holds a Quality Management System certificate as well as a Customer Satisfaction Management System certificate given by the Turkish Standards Institution, as a reflection of its understanding of quality. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Physical Education and Sport Teaching program in the Faculty of Sports Sciences were accredited in accordance with the standards required for the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education Institutions and the criteria of international accreditation institutions. Other faculties including the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Engineering and Architecture are also in the accreditation process. The Scientific and Technological Research and Application Centre was also accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency. It holds the accreditation certificate in accordance with TSE EN ISO /IEC 17025:2017 Standard – General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.

Kırıkkale University attaches high importance to international cooperation. To this end, it has signed bilateral agreements with more than a hundred universities on 4 continents, namely Europe, America, Asia, and Africa.

By signing protocols and building cooperation, through which students find the opportunity to gain experience related to their fields in the workplace throughout their education, Kırıkkale University creates an atmosphere where students can combine theoretical knowledge with practice.
