Kırıkkale University and Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Research Foundation for the History of Science in Islam Signed Cooperation Protocols in Argentina and Chile

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan, Board Director of Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Research Foundation for the History of Science in Islam (IBTAV), Mecit Çetinkaya, Member of the Board of Trustees of IBTAV, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, and the committee accompanying them visited Argentina, Uruguay and Chile to give conferences and to sign protocols.

Within the scope of the program, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan first visited Türkiye’s Ambassador to Buenos Aires, Şefik Vural Altay, in his office in Argentina. He received information related to the universities in Argentine and future projects were discussed. At the end of the visit, the memorial book was signed, and a photo was taken together.

The committee visited the Islamic Center of the Argentine Republic. During the visit, the committee discussed the fields of cooperation with the President of the Islamic Center, Anibal Bachir Bakir, and visited the school affiliated with the Center. A cooperation protocol was signed between Kırıkkale University and the Islamic Center of the Argentine Republic. The protocol consists of cooperation on education, research and foreign language education. Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan and the President of the Center, Annibal Bachir Bakir, expressed their satisfaction with this cooperation and stated that the protocol will strengthen the relations between Türkiye and Argentina.

Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan also gave a lecture entitled "Common Heritage and Future of Humanity: History of Science" at Austral University in Argentina. The conference was held in the Faculty of Law at Austral University with the participation of the Board Director of IBTAV, Mecit Çetinkaya, Member of the Board of Trustees of IBTAV, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Buenos Aires, Şefik Vural Altay, Dean of Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Manuel García Mansilla, Director of the Institute, Dr. Said Chaya, academic staff, undergraduate and graduate students. Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan talked about our scientists in a variety of fields such as mechanics, chemistry, geography, astronomy, mathematics, and medicine and produced technological products from the past to the present and their contributions to world civilization. He added that Muslim scientists wrote works of art and produced products in many fields in the period that Europe describes as the dark age.

Having completed his program in Argentina, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan, Board Director of IBTAV, Mecit Çetinkaya, Member of the Board of Trustees of IBTAV, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan and the committee visited Türkiye’s Ambassador to Uruguay Hüseyin Müftüoğlu. During the visit, our Rector received information related to universities in Uruguay and future projects were discussed.

After Uruguay, Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan, IBTAV, and the committee arrived in Chile. They visited Türkiye’s Ambassador to Chile Gülcan Akoğuz, received information related to universities in Chile and discussed future projects to work on.

Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan also met the Rector of the University of Chile, Prof. Dr. Rosa Devés Alessandri. It was agreed to begin joint activities within the scope of bilateral cooperation as soon as possible. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chile, the Director of International Relations and the academic staff attended the meeting where cooperation between the two universities was discussed. Our Rector also gave a lecture entitled "Common Heritage and Future of Humanity: History of Science" at the University of Chile. The conference was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities at the University of Chile with the participation of the Board Director of IBTAV, Mecit Çetinkaya, Member of the Board of Trustees of IBTAV, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Chile, Gülcan Akoğuz, Chile’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mohamed Sofiane Berrah, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Raúl Villarroel Soto, Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Marcela Luisaedan Lolas, academic staff, undergraduate and graduate students.
