Our Rector and Mecit Çetinkaya, the President of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees of the Research Foundation for the History of Science in Islam (IBTAV) visited Chicago State University in their USA programs.
The first meeting held at
Chicago State University was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan,
IBTAV President Mecit Çetinkaya, Vice Rector of Chicago State University Prof.
Dr. Devi Potluri, Vice President Oscar Rodriguez, Head of the Global Engagement
Office Katherine Khan, Head of the Department of Computer and Mathematical
Sciences Dr. Mohammad Abdus Salam, Head of the Department of English, Foreign
Languages and Interdisciplinary Studies. Concetta Williams, Research Unit
Manager Dr. Edmundo Garcia, Dean of the College of Education Dr. LaVada Taylor
and Registrar Caleb Westberg, Southern University Türkiye Liaison Dr. Osman
Kandara and Study Abroad in Türkiye Program Manager Dr. Mehtap Kandara,
Kırıkkale University Head of International Office Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeynep
Başer. In the first meeting held, Dr. Zeynep Başer gave information about
Kırıkkale University and Kırıkkale. Then, Chicago State University officials
made statements about the University, its student profile and the studies carried
out. Bilateral cooperation opportunities between Kırıkkale University and
Chicago State University were discussed.
After the meeting, Chicago State University was visited and detailed information was obtained about the students' living spaces, cafeteria and dormitory facilities, library and different faculties and research centers of the University. In the seminar held at Chicago State University Library, IBTAV President Mecit Çetinkaya gave information about Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin and the foundation's work. Our Rector talked about the contributions of the Islamic Civilization to world civilization and the inventions of Muslim scientists. After the seminar, Our university's and the Research Foundation's impressions of Chicago State University and bilateral cooperation opportunities were discussed. The visit to Chicago State University ended after a group photo.
