Our University Increasingly Continues International Agreements and Projects

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees of the Islamic Science History Research Foundation (İBTAV) Mecit Çekinkaya and Head of Foreign Relations of our University Dr. Lecturer Member Zeynep Başer visited Southern University in the United States, with which we have a bilateral cooperation agreement.

The visit to Southern University, which started with a friendly breakfast, continued with the opening ceremony of the Home Coming week events, where Southern University graduates came together again.

At the seminar held at Southern University College of Science and Engineering after the Home Coming opening ceremony, our University's Head of External Relations Dr. Lecturer Member Zeynep Başer gave information about our University and Kırıkkale. Chairman of İBTAV Board of Directors and Board of Trustees Mecit Çetinkaya, talked about Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin and his works, and the work of IBTAV. Our Rector made statements about the contributions of Islamic Civilization to world civilization and talked about the examples of 850 years of Turkish-Islamic History. At the seminar, Southern University Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Patrick Mensah and Prof. Dr. Michael Stubblefield, Dolores Margaret Richard Spikes Honors College Dean Prof. Dr. Karen E. Crosby gave short presentations and the delegates discussed the bilateral cooperation opportunities between Southern University and our University. The seminar ended with questions and answers from the participants. After the seminar, Southern University College of Science and Engineering was visited.

The visit program continued with a reception held at Southern University Donald C. Wade House. Southern University President Dennis J. Shields, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan, Provost of Southern University Prof. Dr. Luria Young, Chairman of İBTAV Board of Directors and Board of Trustees Mecit Çetinkaya, Louisiana State Member of Parliament and International Office Dean Prof. Dr. Barbara Carpenter, Head of External Relations of our University, Dr. Lecturer Member Zeynep Başer, vice rectors, deans and department heads attended. The visit ended with the renewal of the bilateral cooperation with our university for the next 5 years and the signing of a new cooperation agreement with IBTAV. Our Rector presented an astrolabe and the tile painting depicting the Çeşnigir Bridge, one of the historical symbols of our city to Southern University President Dennis J. Shields.
