Our University Establishes New Collaborations in Kosovo

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan visited Universum International College with Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Research Foundation of the History of Science in Islam, Mecit Çetinkaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors and the delegates.  

Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan, Member of Board of Trustees (IBTAV), Mecit Çetinkaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors (IBTAV) and our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan and Alejtin Berisha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universum International College (UNI), Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shqipe Gerguri-Rashiti, Members of the Board of Directors of UNI and Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Başer, Head of International Office of our University attended a meeting at first.  At the meeting, Alejtin Berisha, UNI Chairman of the Board gave information about Universum International College. After bilateral cooperation opportunities were discussed, the signing ceremony of the bilateral cooperation agreement was held. Bilateral cooperation agreements were signed with UNI and our university and IBTAV and a photo was shot.  

After the signing ceremony, the Panel titled “History of Science in Islam: Fuat Sezgin” was started. In the panel, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Member of Board of Trustees (IBTAV) gave information about Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin's life and contributions to science, while Mecit Çetinkaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors (IBTAV) talked about the establishment of the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Research Foundation for the History of Science in Islam and the works of the foundation. After the speeches, Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan delivered the speech titled "The Common Heritage and Future of Humanity: History of Science". During his speech, he also asked the participants questions about technological breakthroughs of Türkiye. He presented his own pen to a Kosovo student who answered the question correctly when he showed the armed unmanned aerial vehicle Bayraktar TB3 UCAV, which successfully completed its 32-hour flight.  

After the panel, the delegates visited University of Prizren to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement and a second panel. The panel began with the opening speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mentor Alishani, Rector of the Prizren Ukshin Hoti University, and Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Member of Board of Trustees (IBTAV), Mecit Çetinkaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors and our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan met with academicians and students of University of Prizren. The panel ended with a group photo.  

After the panel, a meeting was held at the Rectorate Building of Prizren Ukshin Hoti University. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Mecit Çetinkaya and our Rector Prof. Dr Ersan Aslan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mentor Alishani, the Rector of University of Prizren, Vice Rectors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdan Kervan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Armend Podrovica, Dr. Adelina Rakaj and, Assist. Prof. Dr. Prof. Zeynep Başer, our Head of International Office attended.  At the meeting, Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mentor Alishani gave information about their University. Alishani stated that the University of Prizren is the only public university in Kosovo that provides education in 3 languages: Turkish, Bosnian and Albanian. Alishani also expressed his pleasure for signing a bilateral agreement with our University and added that this agreement will lead to successful studies for both universities. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan stated that the exchange of academicians and students between University of Prizren and Kırıkkale University would be beneficial for both institutions and countries. Giving information about our university, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan said that we can carry out project-based research in different fields together. Following the meeting, bilateral cooperation agreements were signed between our University, IBTAV and the University of Prizren. The meeting ended with a group photo.
