Open Invitation to American Rector Claudine Gay, Defender of Human Rights and the Right to Life

Around the world, people are protesting the Israeli attacks on thousands of Palestinians in Gaza, and academics and students at universities including Harvard, MIT, and Pennsylvania are also responding to the persecution.

Prof. Dr. Claudine Gay, the rector of Harvard University, was compelled to retire following the peaceful activities planned at the university, much as Prof. Dr. Mary Elizabeth Magill had previously been treated.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan wrote a letter congratulating Harvard University Rector Prof. Dr. Claudine Gay who did not remain silent against the persecution and invited him to our University. The following remarks were made by our rector in his letter to Rector Gay:

Dear Prof. Dr. Claudine Gay,

I have learned that you, as the President of Harvard University, resigned on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, after facing criticism about campus antisemitism. It is regrettable that you were compelled to resign while advocating against Islamophobia and promoting the protection of freedom of speech on campus at the Harvard University, USA. I express my appreciation for your efforts in supporting and helping Muslims who are suffering worldwide, including in Gaza, Palestine.

I assure you that you will always have a place at our university whenever you desire. I believe that your knowledge and experience will greatly contribute to our institution. With our combined efforts, we can strive to make the world a better place for all.

Very truly yours,

Prof. Dr. Ersan ASLAN

Rector
